Sunday, 29th December. Short Walk. Hooe. Easy. 4 miles.

Radford Park, Oreston, Hooe. This is our post-Xmas walk. Let's get some fresh air.

Leaders: Brian and Sally.

Start at 10am at the Radford Dip car park in Plymstock. Take the road from Plymstock towards Hooe. The car park is on the right opposite White Lady Road, which is also an alternative parking area.

Sunday, 5th January. Short Walk. Yealmpton. Medium. 5 miles.

Riverside woods, Dunstone, Puslinch Bridge and the River Yealm.

 

Leaders: Lesley and Mike.

Start at 10am at New Road, Yealmpton. Grid Ref. 580517. Enter Yealmpton village. At the cross roads, turn right down Torr Hill then left into New Road. We suggest car sharing.

Tuesday, 14th January. Mini Walk. Clearbrook. Easy. 3 miles.

The walk goes towards Clearbrook and then follows the cycle path to Yelverton. Return by bus
so please bring your bus pass.

Start at 10am at the car park at the turning to Clearbook. Grid ref 510644. Follow A386 towards Yelverton, turn right onto Clearbrook Road and park in the first car park on the left about 100yds from the junction. Toilets and coffee at Yelverton.

Sunday, 19th January. Long Walk. Saltram. Medium. 5 or 7 miles.

Saltram to Billacombe, Burrow Hill, Radford & Oreston. Return beside the river.

Start at 10am. Grid ref 523554. Saltram NT Car park (meet by the duck pond). Option of shorter walk by returning from Billacombe along the cycle track.

Sunday, 2nd February. Short Walk. Wembury. Medium. 5 Miles.

Wembury, Rocket Cottage, Wembury Beach and Ford.
Lanes and coastal path with an uphill section. Shorter version available.

 

Leaders: Barbara and Geoff.

Start at 10am, Barton Close car park Wembury. From Plymstock follow signs to Wembury then take the first left after the Odd Wheel pub into Mewstone Avenue. Turn left again into Barton Close. Grid ref 528495.

Tuesday, 11th February. Mini Walk. Oreston. Easy. 2 Miles.

Oreston Quay, Radford Circular. Coffee at The Mess Room.

 

Leader: Sandie.

Start at 10am from the car park at the end of Breakwater Road, Oreston. From Plymouth head for Plymstock and at Billacombe R/A take the third exit into Breakwater Road.

Sunday, 16th February. Long Walk. Totnes. Medium. 6 Miles.

Totnes estuary along the Dart Valley Trail to Ashprington and back.
Easy field paths & country lanes.

 

Leaders: Mel and Mark.

Start 10am at Steamer Quay. Grid ref. 806603. Take the A385 into Totnes. At the island take the third exit into Lower Town. Turn left over the bridge and then right to Steamer Quay.
All day parking is £6.50. We will provide information about car sharing and a bus alternative closer to the date.

Sunday, 2nd March. Short Walk. Ringmore & Kingston. Medium. 5 Miles.

Down to Ayrmer Cove, over to Westcombe Beach and on to Kingston. Across country to return to Ringmore.

Start at 10am, Ayrmer Cove NT car park, Ringmore. Grid Ref 649456. Take the A379 and 5 miles beyond Modbury turn right on to the B3392. At St. Anne’s Chapel, turn right following the signs to Ringmore. One steep hill. Journey’s End pub at the end (beer is expensive).

Tuesday, 11th March. Mini Walk. Victoria Park. Easy. 2 Miles.

Path towards Victoria Park and on to Devonport Park, Scott memorial.

Start 10am, free car park. James Street. Mutton Cove.

Sunday, 16th March. Long Walk. Ringmore & Bigbury. Medium. 6 Miles.

Ringmore, Bigbury, Hexdown, Mount Folly, Bigbury-on -Sea, Challaborough and back to Ringmore.

 

Leaders: Paul & Julia.

Start at 10am, Ayrmer Cove NT car park, Ringmore. Grid Ref 649456. Take the A379 and 5 miles beyond Modbury, turn right on to the B3392. At St Anne’s Chapel turn right following signs to Ringmore.

Lunch, Cafe stop and toilets at Bigbury-On-Sea. Maybe a swim, who knows. Some steep sections.

Sunday, 30th March. Short Walk. Modbury. Medium. 4 Miles.

Modbury, Runaway Lane, Ashridge.

 

Leader: Norman.

Start 10am, Poundwell Street Long Stay car park. £2.40 fee.cash only. Grid Ref 657515. Take the A379 to Modbury. Go down to the junction at the bottom of the town. Turn right into Poundwell Street.

Sunday, 6th April. Short Walk. Yealmpton. Easy. 5 Miles.

Yealmpton, Kitley and Dunstone. Couple of stiles.

Start 10am, New Road, Yealmpton. Grid ref 580517. From Plymouth take the A379 to Yealmpton. Turn right at the crossroads, down Torr Hill and take the first left into New Road.

Tuesday, 8th April. Mini Walk. Bigbury-On-Sea. Medium. 2.5 Miles.

Bigbury-on-Sea to Cockleshell Ridge and return. A bit of a hilly walk.

 

Leader: Bunny.

Start at 10am at the car park in the field on the right at the top of the hill before going down to Bigbury-on-Sea beach. Car park is to the left of the caravan park. Grid Ref 660445

Sunday, 27th April. Long Walk. Butterdown. Medium. 6 Miles.

Butterdown area. One steep hill to start. Moor walking with no stiles and one stream to cross.

 

Leader: Robin.

Start at 10am at Wrangaton Golf Club. Grid ref 673582. From the B3213, take the turn by the old stores depot, onto Green Lane. At the T-junction, turn left then quickly right onto Golflinks Road. The car park is at the end of the road.

Sunday, 4th May. Short Walk. Pew Tor & Merrivale. Medium. 5 Miles.

Whitchurch Common, Windy Post, Pew Tor, Vixen Tor, Merrivale.

 

Leader: Brian.

Start at 10am at Pork Hill car park (grid ref. 530751). Take the B3357 out of Tavistock. After about 4 miles the car park is on the right, opposite Cox Tor, at the top of a hill.

Sunday, 11th May. Long Walk. Exminster. Leisurely. 6 Miles.

Exminster, Marshes and Exeter Ship Canal. Easy stiles, bridges, coffee stop and lunch stop.

Start 10am at Deepway Lane car park, Exminster. Grid Ref 942876. Take the A38/A379 to Exminster. Turn right at the village school and up to the car park.

Tuesday, 27th May. Mini Walk. Saltram. Easy. 2.5 Miles.

Boundary walk around Saltram with coffee at the house.

Start at 10am in the main car park at Saltram. Bring your NT pass. Meet by the duck pond.

Tuesday, 10th June. Mini Walk. Mount Edgecumbe. Easy. 2.5 Miles.

Mount Edgecumbe to Millbrook. Return by bus. Coffee etc. in Millbrook.

Start at Admirals Hard, Cremyl ferry at 10.15. Take the No. 34 bus from the Royal Parade or Milehouse Park & Ride.

Sunday, 15th June. Long Walk. Tor Walk. Medium. 7 Miles.

Rippon Tor, Top Tor, Buckland Beacon. Good tor walk (shorter version possible).

 

Leader: Izzy

Start at 10am at the Cold East Cross car park. Grid Ref 741743. Take the A38 Eastbound. After Ashburton, turn off at the sign for Widdecombe. Follow the road until it comes out onto open moor. The car park is at the next crossroads.

Tuesday, 17th June. Mini Walk. 2 Miles. Easy.

Sunday, 29th June. Long Walk. Whiddon Down. Medium. 6.2 Miles.

Whiddon Down. Gradual uphill for ½ mile.

Start at 10am at the Ashburton Long Stay car park. Take the A38 to the Ashburton exit, then the right lane. Take the next right turn into the old Totnes Road (20mph). After the church, turn left into North Street, then go over the bridge and into the car park.
