Sunday, 3rd May. Modbury. Short Walk, 4.5 miles. Moderate.

Modbury, Cotlass, Ashridge & Swanbridge Mill. 

 

Leader: Norman

Start at 10.00 at Poundwell CP, Modbury. Grid Ref, SX942876.
Take the A379 into Modbury. Turn right at the bottom of the main street.

The walk should be less than 3 hours and parking is £3.70 for 3 hours. Parking for free may be possible on other streets. There are now only 2 stiles and total ascent/descent of less than 600 ft. There will be a short refreshment break after 2.5 miles. After the stiles, there is an uphill walk on a lane which will account for most of the up. It is mostly downhill after the break.

Tuesday, 5th May. Plymbridge. Mini Walk, 2 miles. Easy.

Plymbridge Bluebell walk.

Start at 10.00 at Marsh Mills Park & Ride, Plympton. Take the 1st left from Marsh Mills island towards Plympton. 

Sunday, 17th May. Top Tor & Bonehill. Long Walk, 5.5 miles. Moderate.

Top Tor, Bonehill Rocks, Holwell Lawn & Emsworthy Nature Reserve (hopefully lots of bluebells & views).

Tuesday, 19th May. Woolwell. Mini Walk, 2 miles. Easy.

Walking the boundary of the Woolwell development.

Start 10.00 at the Woolwell community centre, Darklake Lane, Woolwell. Tea after in centre.

Sunday, 24th May. Sharpitor. Long Walk, 6 miles. Moderate.

Cycle path over the moor to Sharpitor. Return via the leat. One uphill. Bring snack & lunch.

Start at 10.00 at Lowery Cross CP. PL20 6PD. Grid Ref.SX547692.

Go past the Burrator Inn. At the top of the hill, turn right. The car park is on the right after 200 metres.

Sunday, 31st May. Cadover & Shaugh Moor. Long Walk, 6 miles. Moderate.

Shaugh Moor to Wotter. Return Lee Moor Quarry & river.

Start at 10.00 at the Cadover CP. Take the B3417 from Plympton. Grid Ref: 554645.

Tuesday, 9th June. Mount Edgecumbe. Mini Walk, 3 miles. Easy.

Mount Edgecumbe to Millbrook. Tracks & lanes to Millbrook. Coffee, then catch the bus back.

Meet at Royal William Yard at 10.00 to catch the 10.15 ferry to Mt Edgecumbe. We advise using the No.34 bus from Royal Parade to RWY as your return journey from Millbrook will bring you back to Royal Parade.

Sunday, 14th June. Yealmpton. Short Walk, 5 miles. Moderate.

Yealmpton, Kitley, Dunstone. Riverside and fields & lanes.

Enter Yealmpton and turn right down Torr Hill & 1st left.

Sunday, 21st June. Ivybridge. Long Walk, 7.5 miles. Moderate.

Ivybridge& Erme Valley (a shorter cut-off is available on this walk)

Start at 10.00. Parking in Station Rd Ivybridge. Car share recommended. Meet at Plympton P&R at 09.15.

Tuesday, 23rd June. Jennicliff. Mini Walk, 2 miles. Easy.

Jennicliff to Mount Batten & return. Coffee at Jennicliff cafe after.

Start at 10.00 at Jennicliff car park. From Plymstock, go through Hooe and turn left into Jennicliff Lane.

Sunday, 28th June. Norsworthy Bridge. Short Walk, 4 miles. Moderate.

Start at 10.00 at Norsworthy Bridge car park. Far end of Burrator reservoir. 

Sunday, 5th July. Torpoint. Short Walk, 5 miles. Moderate.

Torpoint Waterfront, Borough Woods, Antony Park & Wilcove.

Start at 09.45 at Milehouse P&R. Walk to Milehouse Rd West bus stop (across the road from the Britannia Inn) to catch the bus to the Torpoint Ferry. If you are going from Torpoint, meet at 11.00 by the Ferry slip (GR: SX441550).

Sunday, 12th July. Crazywell & Princetown. Long Walk, 7.5 miles. Moderate.

Moorland walk visiting the Crazywell Pool area (optional swim), Princetown, Jail Ale Brewery.

Start at 10.00 in the car park at Grid Ref: SX562701. 
From Yelverton take the B3212 towards Princetown. After about 4 miles, the car park is on the left downhill, just past the walking route to Sharpitor.

Tuesday, 14th July. Wembury. Mini Walk, 2 miles. Moderate.

Wembury area walk. Easy walking. No hills or stiles. Coffee after in the Odd Wheel pub

Start at 10.00 at Barton Close car park, Wembury.
Enter Wembury, go past the Odd Wheel pub, then take the 1st left and left again into Barton Close.

Sunday, 19th July. Lee Mill & Corntown. Long & Short Walk, 5 or 7 miles. Moderate.

Start at 10.00. Park in Holly Berry Rd/Harris Way (limited parking. Car share at Plympton P&R at 09.30).
Turn off the A38 at Lee Mill & turn left opposite the Westward Inn.

Wednesday, 22nd July. Exeter & Exmouth. Short Walk. 

Canal trip and walk from Exeter to Exmouth.

Sunday, 26th July. Gara Bridge. Short Walk, 4.5 miles. Easy/Moderate. 

Walk along the river to Gara Bridge & back. Cake stop. Great scenic route.

Annual Barbecue. Walk starts at 14.00. BBQ at 17.00.

Meet at 14.00 at Bigbury Memorial Hall, St.Anne’s Chapel (W3W: ///intrude.exams.law). Take the A379 past Modbury. Turn right on the B3392 towards Bigbury. After 2 miles you reach St, Anne’s Chapel. Further details nearer the date.

Peter Tavy, Boulters Tor, Colleybrook. Great views.

Start at 10.00 by the church in Peter Tavy. Grid Ref SX514778. Take the A386 Okehampton Road from Tavistock and after 3 miles turn right for Peter Tavy. Car share details nearer the date.

Tuesday, 11th August. Churchtown Farm. Mini Walk, 2 miles. Easy. 

Walk to explore Churchtown Farm Nature Reserve. Bring your bus pass.

Meet by 09.45 at Tamar Bridge car park (free for up to 4 hours) to catch the Stagecoach bus No.2 in Pemros Rd at 10.03 to Saltash. The bus comes from Mountbatten at 09.30 and you can board it at any stop from there.

Sunday, 16th August. Exminster Marshes. Long Walk, 6 miles. Easy. 

Exminster Marshes and Canal. Flat including fields & footpaths.

Start at 10.30 at Deepway Lane, Exminster (Grid Ref: SX658515). Take the A38 towards Exeter then the A379 towards Dawlish. Turn right into Exminster, then right to the car park.

Sunday, 23rd August. Sharpitor & Burrator. Short Walk, 5.5 miles. Moderate. 

Sharpitor & Lowery Tor then on to Burrator & Norsworthy & Leather Tor bridges.
